I was raised by very loving, caring parents as well as their extended family, who loved me as if they were my biological parents/family. On my MyHeritage website I have family trees for both my adopted family and my biological family.
I love to read - play the piano, compose music, design webpages, and garden. I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. My husband and I live in Eastern Oregon. He was adopted also.
Bio: I was born in Terre Haute, Indiana and adopted by Cecil and Marie Blocksom, when I was 6 months old. We traveled to Oregon in a brand spanking new 1949 Oldsmobile. We lived one year in Troutdale, Oregon before moving to Gresham, Oregon. I grew up in the Gresham Oregon area and moved to the Oregon coast after graduating from College, where I began teaching school. I lived in several states during my career and ended up in Eastern Oregon. I am certified Music Ed Pre-K through 12, Business Ed grades 5-12 and Career Technical grades 9-12. I retired at the end of the 2015 school year.
I did my DNA to see if I could connect with anyone in my biological family and I have a gedmatch account too. I was amazed that in less than a month, I was able to connect with biological family and fill in the gaps in the story I knew. Everything matched like a perfect jigsaw puzzle. I have become Facebook friends with my brothers and some nieces. I have had an email from a 1st cousin telling me some family history. It is amazing that after 70 years of being an only child, I am now blessed with siblings who have for many years been wishing to discover me.
I am a very active member of Toastmasters International and Oregon Hunter Education Instructors Association, holding offices in both.
I have joined the Indiana Adoptees Facebook page - [1]. and have registered on the Indiana Adoptees registry.

It's not hard to add DNA test information to profiles on WikiTree, just make sure you add the tests to the actual test participant's profile & set the Privacy to Private w/ Public Biography & Family Tree to show the tester's part of our tree. For help see How to DNA on WikiTree
Here's a great YouTube video with all sorts of questions answered Getting Started with DNA.
