Gottfried Ulrich died at his home at Cabin Creek last Wednesday at the age of 78 years. He had been ill for nearly three months, suffering from cancer. Gottfried Ulrich was born December 2, 1860 at Porden (sic) Russia. He attended school in South Russia and was employed as fame and blacksmith helper there. In October, 1884, he was married to Christina Ruff at Jacobdahl (sic), Russia, and they immigrated to the US in 1893, locating near Ellendale ND. They moved to MT in 1910, settling on a farm in the Cabin Creek community, where he engaged in farming operations. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Russia. Surviving relative include his wife, one daughter, Emilia Sellickson of Marsh; three sons, Rudolph and Adolph of Marsh, and Otto of Glendive; and one sister Mary Middlestead of Kulm ND. Four children preceded him in death, a son and a daughter in infancy, Jacob in 1924, and Katie Jundt in 1938. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev EJ Bott of Fallon in charge. Mrs Bott and Mrs Gottlieb Haidle sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul." Pallbearers were David Gebhardt, Emanuel Gebhardt, Reinhold Gebhardt, and John Jundt, and burial was made in the cemetery at Cabin Creek. Hilda Zimbach of Butte and Martha and Oscar Ulrich of Circle were among the relatives who were present for the funeral services.
