Anna was born in 1863, the daughter of Peter and Maria Anna (Schafer) Ulrich. She joined the Sisters of Charity in Wilmette, taking the novitiate veil in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in 1880 [1] with whom she spent her life teaching as Sister Casilda. She died in 1940 and was originally buried in the Holy Family Convent cemetery in Danville, Pennsylvania from where the interred sisters were moved to Saint Joseph's cemetery in 2014. [2]
