Simon was born in 1845. He passed away in 1913. [1]
In 1850, the Ulch family lived on their farm in Penn, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. All members of the household were born in Pennsylvania. The family included John Ulch, 35, a farmer, with $900 in real estate; his wife Catharine, 36; their children, Hannah, 11, in school; Sarah, 10, in school; Jacob, 8, in school; Susanna, 7; Simon, 5; Mary, 2; and Caroline, four months of age.[2]
Simon Peter Ulch was born 13 September 1845 in Pennsylvania, the son of John Ulsh and Catharine Naber. Simon served in the Union Army during the Civil War in Co. E, 10th Iowa Infantry and in the 88th Pennsylvania Infantry. Simon married and had children. He homesteaded in Nebraska. Simon died, aged 67, in Milford, Seward, Nebraska, and is buried at Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford, Nebraska. [3]
