Biography

Philippe was the daughter of Edward Tyrrell^[1][2] and Anne Pashley. Her birth date is uncertain, as is her birth place (her father had lands and interests in several counties).^[3][4]

In 1442 Philippe and her sister Margaret were bequeathed a life interest in the manors of her father, their brother Edward having died.^[5]

Philippe married Thomas Cornwallis.^[3][4][6] They married before 1446/7, when they are mentioned as man and wife in a Feet of Fines entry.^[3][4][7] They had the following children:

• John,^[3][4] who died without issue^[1][2] in 1506^[6]
• Edward,^[3][4] who died without issue^[2][6]
• Robert,^[3][4] who died without issue^[1][2][6]
• William^{[1][2][3][4][6]}
• Katherine, who married Francis^[2] or Thomas^[1][8] Froxmere^[3][4] (spelt Frewsmere in Metcalfe's edition of Suffolk Visitations^[2])

Philippe's husband Thomas died on 26 May 1484.^[3][4][9] Her own death date is not known.

Children

The Harleian Society edition of the Visitations of Nottingham omits Edward as a child, but lists another son, Thomas (died without issue), and another daughter, Mary, said to have married ___Clovell of Essex.^[1]
