Dorcas "Dora" Louisa Tyrrell was born in about 1833. She was the daughter (and tenth child of twelve) born to Dr. George Tyrrell and his wife Eliza Steele. (She was baptised Dorcas but usually went by the name Dora.)
She married Lieutenant General Stephen Henry Edward Chamier on 4 September 1858 at Dinapore, Bengal, India[1].
They had at least nine children, five of whom young.

Her husband Stephen died on 9 June 1910.
In the 1911 England Census, Dora Louisa Chamier (aged 77 and living on Private Means and Army Pensioner) was recorded living at Brook House, Middleton Road, Camberley, Surrey. Also in the household was her granddaughter Dora Margaret Pennycuick (30) and two servants.
Dora passed away on 13 July 1925 and was buried on 15 July 1925 at St Peter's Churchyard, Frimley, Surrey Heath Borough, Surrey, England. PLOT: J1 XI[3].
Her will was proved on 25 August 1925 at London to Reginal Henry Mahon, Colonel HM Army and Herbert James Whittell Holt, solicitor[4]. Effects: £7,861 10s. 5d.
