Both my Pholkes arrived in California during the Great Depression. They each came from working class families: Farmers and Miners. I greatly appreciate dirt and rocks. No fancy people behind me, just hard working, get the job done self employed Farmers, and Miners in the worst conditions: coal, zinc, lead and a little salt. Many deaths due to life as a miner. There were a few determined adventurists in a 1620 Expedition out of London, headed for the Colony of Virginia: Their last port of call in England being Newlyn, where they purchased fresh water for the trans-Atlantic voyage. Due to a near one month delay in their launch, instead of landing in Virginia, they hit bad weather and were forced to land several hundred miles North of their planned destination. I am a direct descendant of Priscilla Mullins and John Alden. Other trail blazers were Anna Margaretha Albrecht and husband Abraham Tegarden; who bravely departed Solingen Germany, arriving at Maryland in 1736 and the youngest Venturer's arrived in 1745 at Philadelphia, they were the Turrentine Clan out of Ireland; my line is from the brother Samuel.
Susan is descended from 7 Original Mayflower Pilgrims aboard the November 1620 arrival at Plimouth Massachusetts party, this is one line, it includes 2 Pilgrims:
The other five 1620 Mayflower Pilgrims Susan is descended from all lead to Rebecca Tilson ;

First-hand information. Entered by Susan Turrentine at registration. Family notes back to William Oscar Turrentine (1872 - 1940) provided by my father: Harvey E Turrentine (1926 - 2009). Earlier Ancestral line source: George Ruford Turrentine literature. My fathers' father: Harvey Turrentine (1906 - 1930) died when my father was 3, the George R T books helped my father learn of his heritage and to keep it alive in his children. My Mothers family had notes back to Nancy Frances McCray (1823 - 1906) and her spouse: William Washington Smith (1822 - 1865). With a photo of the couple taken shortly before William Smith enlisted for the Civil War, his family needed the Enlistment fee.
Her maternal line’s mitochondrial DNA haplogroup is T2b. Mitochondrial clade T derives from the haplogroup JT, which also gave rise to the mtDNA haplogroup J. The T maternal clade is thought to have emanated from the Near East (Bermisheva 2002). [1]
