Biography

Baptism uncertainty

There are two very good candidates for the baptism of this John, both of them in Lyminge, Kent. Firstly, a John, son of Clement Turrell, was baptized on 28 Aug 1620, and secondly a John, son of John Turrall, was baptized on 3 June 1621.^[1][2] It is unknown which of these is the correct John. I have chosen the Turrell spelling, because I lean toward him being the son of Clement, as he himself had a son named Clement, which may suggest a family name.

Marriage and Family

John married a woman named Alice. The marriage record has not yet been found, so the date and location of their marriage, as well as the bride's maiden name, is currently unknown. They had at least four children together:

Clement Tyrrell, born 21 Dec 1654, baptized 27 Dec 1654 in Lyminge^[3]

Susan Tyrrell, born 7 Aug 1656, baptized 8 Aug 1656 in Lyminge^[4]

Alice Terrell, baptized 5 Dec 1658 in Lyminge^[5]

Ann Turrall, baptized 9 Nov 1664 in Lyminge^[6]
