Is this Daniel Trisler?.

According to information from the Civil War enrollment records completed in Monroe County, Indiana, in 1862 and available on microfilm at the Indiana State Archives, David Trisler, age 27 and a farm hand living in Perry Township, was exempted from serving in the war due to hypertrophy of the heart. (See p. 50.). 1 1

Daniel Trisler is listed as living in Monroe County, Perry Township, age 29, white, farmer, married, born Indiana, in the book U. s. Civil War Draft Registration Records, 1863-1865, volume 2, page 497--images of the original text on ancestry.com, accessed 18 May 2015. Listed just below him in the record, also in Perry Township, is Milton Trisler, age 23, white, farmer, single, born Indiana. I believe this may be Milton Trisler, son of David and Lavina (Rhorer) Trisler, who had earlier deserted from the Army after enlisting in Spencer County, Indiana. Daniel and his wife Amanda (Rhorer) Trisler had a son they named Milton, but he died in 1858 as an infant. Daniel Trisler apparently suffered from heart disease, and was deemed unsuitable for military service; he died in 1865 at the age of 33. 1 1 Trisler and his infant son Milton J. Trisler are buried at Mt. Salem Cemetery off highway 37 south of highway 48. The cemetery was read in the mid 1950s and the reader noted that the cemetery is well-fenced and states that "descendants of the families buried here meet on Friday before the first Sunday in August, cut weeds, straighten stones and prepare seats and a table. An old-fashioned basket meeting is held on this Sunday. The log church built in the early 1830s, was noted for many revivals, and the good it accomplished in the community. The building decayed and was torn down about 1900." When I last visited the cemetery in 2007 it was still kept up but vandals had broken and removed many of the stones.
