DEATHS D. EMMETT TRISLER. D. Emmett Trisler, formerly of Beloit but later of Colorado Springs, died Oct. 7, 1958, following a heart attack. He was born Feb. 26, 1895* in Guthrie, Oklahoma, a child of the late Hiram and Sarah Trisler, who moved from Oklahoma to Kansas when Emmett was a small boy. The family home was in the Shutts School neighborhood near the Pleasant View church, where Emmett was a member. He was a member of 334th Field Artillery during World War One. He was married in 1920 to Bessie Tice, who with one son, survive him. The Trislers moved to Ellsworth, later moving to Colorado Springs, where they now reside at 515 West Bijou. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, his son, Maurice, and his son's wife, Patricia and three grandchildren, all of Colorado Springs, also two brothers, Will Trisler of Chateau Montana and John Trisler, Eugene, Oregon. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister, also a little son, Emmett Gene, who died in 1926. Funeral services were held in the Swan Drawing Room at 1 o'clock Wednesday, Oct. 8, Dr. Ben F. Lehmberger officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery in Colorado Springs. Out of town relatives who attended the services were Mrs. Trisler's sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wicks, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McElwain, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tindle, Mrs. Harry Tice of Beloit, and Mrs. Jesse Stout of Yates Center, Kansas.
Another newspaper clipping: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tindle, Mrs. and Mrs. Elmer McElwain, Mrs. Bertha Tice and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wicks, accompanied by Mrs. Jess Stout, Yates Center, were in Colorado Springs Oct. 8 to attend funeral services for Emmett Trisler, formerly of this community. Mesdames Wicks, Tindle, McElwain and Stout, sisters of Mrs. Trisler, and Mrs. Tice, a sister-in-law, remained there for a few days when the men returned to Beloit.
