Biography

Amanda Jane Tripp was born 17 March 1866, in Millcreek, Madison County, Missouri, the daughter of Eli and Elva (Revelle) Tripp.

22 July 1870 when Amanda Jane was five years old, she and two younger sisters (Cordelia--3 and Drucilla--6 mos.) lived in Twelve Mile Twp., Madison Co., Missouri with their parents, Eli A. --26 and "Eva"--23. Eli's occupation was in the coal industry as a collier.

4 June 1880, at the age of 14, Amanda, two sisters and four brothers attended school and lived with their parents in German Twp., Madison Co. Her father worked burning charcoal. A paternal uncle and cousin were also in the household.

Amanda married John Denton Revelle est.1887.

14 June 1900, Manda and John, married for 13 years, lived in St Michael Township (west half) Fredericktown town (part) Ward 1, Madison, Missouri. They had a son, Robert, aged 12. (b. March 1888) John was a wood chopper. They were neighbors of her parents.

16 April 1910, aged 42, John and Amanda had been married 22 years. She had given birth to 3 children/1 still living. Son, P. Robert--21, worked in farming with his father and lived in their home in St Michael, Madison Co.

9 May 1940, still living in St. Michael Township, 73 year-old J. D. and his wife, Manda--75 shared their home with their son Robert--53 and their daughter-in-law Matty--45. Father and son farmed together.

She passed away 1 December 1941, at the age of 75, in Fredericktown, Madison County, Missouri. BURIAL Revelle Cemetery Cherokee Pass, Madison County, Missouri
