Biography
Giovanni was born in Montevago, Sicily around 1820 [1] to Maestro Cristofalo Triolo, a barber, and Rosa Scutera. In 1847 at age 27, he married 20-year-old Rosalia Digiovanna [2]. They appear to have settled in Rosalia's home town of Santa Margherita di Belice, as they had children there. Giovanni was a shepherd [3].
