Communication Preferences:
I am interested in communicating with
anyone who shares the same genealogical or historical interests.
My family tree is private but I want to collaborate on deep ancestors or historical figures.
I started learning about my family tree in school projects and have been building on that since. I have access to a wealth of information collected by family members and relatives on both sides of my family tree. My travels have led me to a variety of ancestral home communities.
Edward I have made a few edits to Ida's children. Eddie(Robert Edward) was married to my aunt Pearl Shockey and Ivy (Iva Beatrice) was married to my uncle Joseph Huffman. Pearl's sister Ethel Shockey (my great grandmother) married William Edward Huffman brother of Joseph and son of William Green Huffman who was Ida's second Husband. They really merged the families together.
I apologize for getting your name wrong in the previous post. My cousin, Ian Anderson, has research a lot of family information. If you want to access my website for family tree information, please let me know and I will provide details.
I find it interesting that the newspaper reference to Edith's wedding said her father was John Anderson when it was Jacob, whom I think went by the name Charles. There are many references to John Henry Anderson's father being Charles. Maybe there is a generation missing?
Bill, I just happened to be doing some Anderson research in my extended family trees and came across what look liked two identical profiles. Although I knew they weren't related to my work, it seemed easy enough to notify you both a merge would be in order. The great thing about wikitree is it's a cooperative site. One can always be helpful to others in the community.
Genealogy is an amazing study. So many fascinating facts to find. Best wishes in your research.
Thank you for the proposed merge. Edith's brother, John Henry Anderson, was by G G grandfather. I am new to WikiTree so when I found people already listed, who appear to be in my extended family, I hit a bit if a road block.
Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!
GEDCOMs are great for getting data in quickly but includes a bunch of codes that aren't needed. The results need to be adjusted to make a good biography. The GEDCOM-Created Biography FAQ details some of those codes and which are safe to delete.
One of our mentors created this YouTube video which explains the process she uses to do GEDCOM cleanup (YouTube video). I like to add links to the profiles of family members, rather than removing as recommended in the video.
As a descendant, I would love to confirm Isaac's ancestry as there are confusing bits of info out there. I'm not in any hurry to find out more of the back history of either at this time, but would enjoy anything people have.

Grandparents on both sides seem to have worked on their genealogies. I started delving into genealogical research in the 1990s. I have visited ancestral gravesites, historical societies and libraries in my search.
