Johann was born in 1646. He passed away in 1707.
According to YDNA testing of descendants on the paternal line he is presumed to belong to haplogroup I-FTD1111.
According to the YDNA evidence (FTDNA 37 marker tests) there is a Swedish connection, since most YDNA cousins are from Sweden. FTDNA BigY estimates that the TMRCA with the Swedish line coincides with a male born around 1545.
Coincidentally there were 18.000 Swedish soldiers stationed in Germany during parts of the 30-years-war. It is hypothesized that perhaps Johann Dressel is descended from a soldier of Swedish field marshall Gustav Horn's army.
