Augusta Le Poer Trench was born in about 1823 and was baptised at South Hamlet in Gloucestershire on 10 September 1823[1]. She was the daughter of Robert Trench and Letitia Dillon.

In the England Census of 1851, Augusta Le Poor Trench (aged 27 and single) was recorded in the household of her mother Letitia Le Poer Trench (66) in Bathampton, Somerset, England. Also in the household were two of her nephews Robert Burrowes (9) and Edward Mansfield, three visitors and five servants[2].

She married Reverend William Henry Priestly on 3 February 1858 at the British Embassy in Paris, France. Notice of their marriage was printed on page 12 of the Dorset County Chronicle dated 25 February 1858:

They had one daughter; Florence Letitia Priestly (b. abt. 1861, d. 5 Oct 1941). Her husband William died on 28 September 1861.

She married, secondly, widower Reverend Charles Childers (the son of Colonel John Walbanke-Childers) on 10 June 1869 in Dresden, Germany[4]. Notice of their wedding was printed on page 4 of the Globe newspaper dated 18 June 1869:
