Biography

Born in Charleston, WV and raised in Xenia, Ohio, but now living in the sunny South. Served in the US Army with over 400 days in Vietnam 1968-69; Graduate Capital University, Columbus, OH; Quality Engineer National Security Complex, Oak Ridge, TN., now retired and have the best job as Grandpa! I've enjoyed over 12 years having genealogy as a hobby.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!

It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working on any profiles that need GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
