Hello Mark. My great grandfather was Lemuel Hutchins. I was trying to link him to my grandfather Floyd Humphrey Hutchins but I don't have permission to do that. I noticed that my grandfather is not listed as one if the children. Can you help me with this or tell me who can? I am new to this sight and still trying to figure things out. Thank you so much.

Hi Janell,

Just looked at these profiles, and it seems you have figured it out already. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, but I wasn't in WikiTree last night. All the best in your search, and if I can be of help, let me know. Mark

Hi, Mark. You and I map out as 5th cousins. Our most recent common ancestors are George Townsend and Polly Richmond. There's very little probability of a meaningful DNA match, but I'm curious anyway.

Have you uploaded your FamilyFinder DNA test data to Gedmatch.com? If so, please post your Gedcom ID on your profile here. If not, please consider uploading your data and recording your ID here.

Hi, Mark.

Thank you for your note on my profile. I have uploaded my 23andMe data to FTDNA FamilyFinder, and I do not see you on my list of matches there, so I guess we do not have a good autosomal match.

I do, however, have a solid autosomal match at FTDNA to Jerome Townsend (Townsend-7938), but no genealogical paper trail. His paternal-line Townsend ancestry is a dead end for him. I think he could come from the Barnard, Vermont, Townsends, and I am curious to learn whether he is going to turn out to have a YDNA match with you. A while back he told me he had ordered a Y-111 match.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Your tag suggest that the Mayflower Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Click my name, then ask in the comments on my profile.
