Rifleman Leonard John Tonkin of the 3rd Bn NZ Rifle Brigade died 29 Oct 1917 at the No 5 General Hospital in Rouen, from wounds that he received on 12 Oct 1917. He was 23 years old. He was buried in St Sever Cemetery Extention Rouen in France.
