This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them; I'm here to help answer them.
I noticed your note about being adopted. Did anyone share the special page created to help Adoptees set up their profiles? It explains lot of options that you have and how to get some additional help.
I'm here to answer questions about WikiTree! You can reply to this comment or send me a private message.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

It's good to have you with us! I'm sure you're going to enjoy WikiTree as much as we do.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
If you do get stuck, post a comment on my page and Ill do my best to help you move forward.
Please add as much information to each profile you create or edit as you can; it all helps turn a name back into a person.
Happy tree climbing,
Claire ~ WikiTree Greeter

Welcome to Wikitree. 239 people are collaborating on 15 different branches of the Barnes family. If I can be of assistance with your Barnes line, please contact me. If you trace your roots to my Irish immigrant, Brinsley (1713-1794) [Barnes-1145] or Solomon [Barnes-368] also an ancestor, let's connect. I am the President of a non-profit Foundation and operate a website devoted to research on Brinsley and Solomon Sr. (1751-1807) and their descendants. Both men migrated to what became Wilkes County, NC in 1777. We have six Ph.D.s and a former State Registrar of the DAR volunteering their time to assist us. Solomon, although not born there first, came to Orange County, NC and later migrated to Rowan County in about 1771. This became Wilkes in 1777 and until his death but is present-day Alexander. Brinsley migrated from Dublin to Chester, PA then to Orange now Chatham Co., NC before arriving in Wilkes now Alexander about 1784. At the time this was Indian Territory. Solomons roots are English, and he descends through the same line as James and Keturah Shipley Barnes. The website also discusses their descendants who migrated to many US locations. Learn more by https://competitivestrategies.us/barnes-ancestors-and-history/. A new article is announced every three or four months. To be notified of this, fill out the form at https://competitivestrategies.us/newsletter-sign-up-page/ . By doing this we will also send you research aides that are not on the website, and they come from counties where our family lived, but the courthouse is not automated and online.
I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?
We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?
I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to this link. RootsSearch. There are 24 different websites available and most are free. Give it a try!
Check out the New Member How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. If the emailed link does not work, you can find it in the public comments on your profile. There is some great information in those pages.
If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will find answers. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I will get back to you by the end of the day.
