Biography

I was born. I went to school. I served in the military. I go to school again.

I started doing genealogy to make a gift for my mother-in-law and I still haven't run out of leads to trackdown; as she is so fond of saying I am a research bulldog.

so I guess all I can say is: woof.

GENEALOGY WISH LIST

Hi Rob, I recently sent you a trusted list request for Margaret Leona (Mitchell) Hodgkinson (1883-). Please could you check if you received me, and get back to me if you haven't. Happy to answer any questions!

Thanks, Gillian

Hi Rob, I recently sent you a trusted list request for William James Hodgkinson (abt.1874-) and was wondering if you received it. There is a proposed merge outstanding involving that profile, and I'd like to add sources and complete the merge if appropriate. Thanks so much!

Hi Rob,

Burritt-24 This profile should be open because the birth date is greater than 150 years in the past. Can this profile be changed to open so others can help with improving it. Thanks! Peggy

Thank you for posting my great-great grandfather's (James Ketcheson) family tree. Your roots seem to be Dutch; is there someone in your family connected to the Ketchesons?

Rob, thanks for the article on "try to" vs. "try and" - I'll try and be more judicious about correcting real errors and not changing points of style. :-)

Hi Rob, regarding the unnamed question, how do we know a child was not named? Officially perhaps not because there was no baptism but the parents could still have given their baby a name, which is why I prefer to use unknown.. we can't know for sure.. perhaps the standards was agreed upon for some food reason, but personally I'd prefer to use unknown. Is that wrong?
