I see you added Charlotte Augusta Curry as mother to Milton Alexander Baker. I believe she died before his birth and that is mother is Durscilla Albury, Joseph Baker's second wife. Milton appears as a one-year old in the 1870 census with Joseph and Druscilla in Key West.
As an aside a lot of additions, merges, and previously disassociated profiles were associated for the line starting with Conrad Penny Baker. There is some lack of clarity regarding of the parentage of Samuel, Benjamin W, and Joseph Baker wrt to Conrad.
If you have any insight into that please let me know.
You show "LNU" as the last name for Miriam (LNU) Griffin (1700-) but I think you meant "Unknown." This typo will keep the profile from being searchable in Wikitree databases. Could you please take a moment and correct the last name at birth to either Unknown or the correct name if you know it?
If you're not sure how to do this, just reply to this message. IMPORTANT – please include the original profile numbers LNU-1167 in your reply – I write lots of these letters!! Open your Watchlist box at the top of any profile you manage and type in LNU and fix any others please.
Thank you for helping to strengthen our collaborative tree.
I certainly do not mind making the change(s) but was "taught" that LNU=Last Name Unknown and FNU=First Name Unknown. Clearly that is redundant where those codes are used in specific news fields.
Is Unknown the preferred WikiTree nomenclature? Just curious and quite willing to make the change regardless.
The Wikitree guidelines have a sentence in the help file for naming fields for Last Name at Birth (LNAB) showing Unknown as the preferred name for Unknown profiles. See the following link.
Hi Pete, Yes you can upload multiple gedcoms, and working with small batches is the best way. Many of us that uploaded several hundred folks when we first joined, and are still working on getting everyone straightened out, have begun sending out warnings, that manual entry is soooo much easier. Cheerio, Patt
Hello Pete, You are now a member of the WikiTree Community - We are building One Collaborative Tree, with just one profile per person, so it is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree.
"Sources are critically important for genealogy. Some even say that genealogy without sources is mythology. Even if you're just a casual family historian recording modern family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from."
If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add, please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Please, be sure to include a list of the sources used, on each profile you add.
If you need any help getting started check out the Help Index or the G2G forum - Good luck growing your branches, Patt
My birth name is Walter Peter Toemmes, Jr, but go by the name Pete Toemmes. My father is first generation born in the USA and descends from the (Alsace-Lorraine Region with German roots for both his father and mother (my paternal GPs) though they met and married in the Minonk, IL USA.
My maternal GM descends from surname Griffin parents (2nd Cousins) from Eleuthera, Bahamas and married a southern Georgia, USA man (my maternal GF).
My mother and father met in Miami, FL USA where I was born.
I agree completely with the mission of WikiTree and based on my Alsation sources believe I can help with German ancestry and I have a moderate amount of experience with Bahamian ancestry.
I look forward to finally becoming a full helping member.
I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.
If you have any brick walls, collaboration might help bust through. Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out. ANY Wiki Genealogist can edit "Open" profiles (over 200 years old = open). There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: brickwall

I will fix that so thank you for catching it.

Not using Unknown will keep the profile from being searchable in Wikitree databases.
Thank you for your help.
