Biography

Floyd Frances Todd, son of Clifton Marcus Todd and Marie Berniece Rivette, was born on 25 January 1912 in Calcasieu Parish, LA.2 Floyd Todd (given age 18) was enumerated as a son of Clifton M Todd (given age 45) on the 1930 Census. They lived at Black Road in Jefferson County, TX.3

He married Mildred Ida Wharton, daughter of Calwell Wharton and Elnora Love.4

Floyd Frances Todd served in the military in the 1930s.5

According to a city directory listing in 1938, Floyd F Todd and his wife, Mildred, lived at 317 Shreveport Avenue, Apt 5, in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, TX. Floyd worked for the Texas Co. in the Terminal Division.6 According to a city directory listing in 1940, Floyd F Todd and his wife, Mildred, and their two children, lived at 837 6th Street in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, TX. They lived with his parents. Floyd was employed for a terminal division (company not named).7 According to a city directory listing in 1941, Floyd F Todd and his wife, Mildred, lived at 811 6th Street in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, TX, with two children.8 According to a city directory listing in 1945, Floyd Todd and his wife, Mildred, lived at 811 6th Street in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, TX. Floyd worked as a welder for B. Shultz.9

He was the informant on the death certificate of his father, Clifton Marcus Todd, who died on 25 November 1950 in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, TX.10 According to a city directory listing in 1951, Floyd F Todd and his wife, Mildred, lived at 1824 11th in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, TX. Floyd was a construction worker.11 In 1953, his wife, Mildred Ida and their children Kyle Bernice and Floyd Clifton, joined him in Saudi Arabia, while he worked there for Aramco.12

He was widowed on 14 November 1958.13 He retired as an Inspector for an oil company.1 Prior to his death in 1974, Floyd Frances Todd lived at 1225 Central Blvd #1606 in Brownsville, Cameron County, TX.1

Floyd Frances Todd died at age 62 of liver failure due to cirrhosis of the liver, on 21 June 1974 at Brownsville Medical Center in Brownsville, Cameron County, TX. He was buried at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, Cameron County, TX.1
