Soon after 30 June 1409[2] John married Eleanor Spine, daughter and co-heir of Guy Spine.[1] Through his marriage he acquired lands in Warwickshire, including Coughton.[1] He and Eleanor had at least the following children:
Elizabeth, who married Robert Russell[3] and is referred to as his eldest daughter in his will[4]
Agnes,[3] who married Thomas Winslow and is referred to as his second daughter in his will[4]
Margaret, who married John Rowse[3] and is referred to as his third daughter in his will[4]
A daughter who married Robert Gifford (not listed in the Visitation, but her husband is named in John Throckmorton's will, where she is said to be his fourth daughter[4] She is named as Jane in Wedgwood's History of Parliament, and said to have gone on to marry Drewe Barentyne and then John Marny.[5][6]
Matilda, who married Thomas Greene[3] and is referred to as his fifth daughter in his will[4]
Eleanor, who married Richard Knightley[3] and is referred to as his sixth daughter on his will[4]
Career
John trained as a lawyer, and was employed initially by Sir John Phelip of Kidderminster, Worcestershire. After Sir John died in 1415, John Throckmorton worked for Richard Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. This led to many local appointments, especially in Worcestershire, where, among other offices he held, he was several times Under-Sheriff of the county. It also led to his simultaneously becoming a royal official: he was a chamberlain of the royal Exchequer from 1418, and Under-Treasurer of the Exchequer from 1433 to 1443.[1][2] He had royal grants, including, along with others, the right to revenues of the diocese of Worcester in 1433.[1]
John was a Justice of the Peace for Worcestershire from 1414 to his death, and for Warwickshire for six years from 1433.[1][2] He represented Worcestershire six times in Parliament.[2]
After Richard Beauchamp Earl of Warwick died in 1439, John was an executor of his will, and custodian of the lands of Richard Beauchamp's son Henry, who was a minor. He acquired a new influential patron in Ralph Boteler, 1st Lord Sudeley, whom he named as overseer of his will.[1]
Death and Will
John died in London on 12 April 1445 and was buried at Fladbury, Worcestershire.[1][2]

Research Notes
WikiTree currently has profiles for two daughters who married Robert Gifford: Mary and Jane. Neither of these daughters' profiles is well-sourced. This needs further research.
Coughton Court
Coughton Court, which was a Throckmorton residence in later times, was a Tudor edifice. John Throckmorton may well have had a residence in a previous medieval building at Coughton, but, if so, this has not survived.[8][9]

So would he have been born in Warwickshire or Worcestershire? My apologies but I'm trying to correct some personal family charts and the top lists Warwickshire but I thought Eleanor was from there and he thusly acquired lands w/ their marriage...but that he was born in Worcester.possibly even Fladbury where he was buried?
Thanks for any advice-

Hi Chris - you copy the code (including the double curly brackets each end) and paste it into your own biography in edit mode. Change "add your relationship here" to your actual relationship. Save. It then produces that sticker. Message me directly if this doesn't work out for you.

Sir John Throckmorton was my 18th GG Grandfather.

I have a little to do to sort out daughters, but this should not significantly affect this profile.
I think you meant: Coughton Court, which was "thought" to be a Throckmorton residence, was a Tudor edifice. Or "believed."
