Leslie Fern Thrall Deibner, 81, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, in her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Leslie was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Elk River, the daughter of Lester Edwin Thrall and Dorothea Elizabeth Wylie. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1955. After her graduation, Leslie and her family moved to Seattle, where she enlisted in the U.S. Army. She spent two years in the Army Medical Corps. It was in the Army that she met and married her husband, Norman John Deibner. Norman and Leslie were married July 5, 1955, in Fort Meade, Md.
After her discharge from the Army, Leslie and her husband moved to Sibley, Iowa, and raised six children. They later divorced.
After the divorce, Leslie moved to Kamiah to be closer to her family, and then later moved to Lewiston.
Leslie is survived by her brother, John Elton Thrall of Lake Tapps, Wash.; her six children, Aleta Lenoue (Jim Spurrgeon) of Boise, Crystal Deibner of Rock Springs, Wyo., Michael Deibner of Caldwell, Idaho, Joseph Deibner (Angela) of Eagle, Idaho, Mary Herres (Christopher) of Pomeroy, and Paul Deibner of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Janice Thrall Stevens; and her grandson, Cody Krogman. [2]
