Dr. David Thompson was born circa 1755, in New Castle, Delaware, a son of John Y. Thompson, born 1727, in County Antrim, Ireland and Dorothe Letitia McKean. David's father was the Second Justice of the Court of Common Pleas for the County of New Castle, [1] and Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A114222 Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by David Thompson and his wife, Frances Aiken. [2]
In 1790, in Delaware, David Thompson married Fanny Aitkin. [3] David died February 22, 1795, in New Castle Delaware and is buried in Saint Georges Cemetery [4]
Frances was the daughter of John Aiken and Frances Alexander. After David's death, Frances "Fanny" Aiken moved to Jonesborough, Tennessee, where she married John McAlister, in 1800. Frances died there, ten years later. [5]
