Malinda Thompson was born on 20 February 1805 in Loudoun County, Virginia.[1][2]
Malinda married John Clark on 23 September 1824 in Loudoun County, Virginia.[1][2][3][4]
Malinda and John lived in Loudoun County, Virigina until after 1827. Their first two children were born in Virginia. Sometime after 1827 and before 1829, Malinda and John moved to Ohio. It appears that the rest of their children were there. They then moved to Indiana around 1850.[1][2]
Malinda died on 9 February 1896 in Taylor Township, Greene County, Indiana and is buried at Simpson Chapel Cemetery, Scotland, Indiana.[2][5]
Malinda CLARK was born in Lowden [Loudoun] County, Virginia, February 20, 1805, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William BOGARD, in Taylor Township, Greene County, Indiana, on Sunday, February 9, 1896. Age, ninety years, eleven months and nineteen days. The remains were interred in the cemetery at Simpson Chapel, near where she died.
Her maiden name was Malinda THOMPSON and she was the last one of the family. She was married to John CLARK in Virginia in the year 1825. They first moved to Ohio, and then moved to Indiana in 1850, where they both lived happily together until death. To them were born twelve children, eight of whom preceded her to the spirit world. Those who are yet alive are Mrs. Amanda BENHAM, Martha BOGARD, Charlotte HUFFMAN and Harrison CLARK. One son, John CLARK, died in the army during the late war. Deceased was a widow about twelve years. She has been a devoted member of the Christian church for about fifty years. She was a true Christian, a good neighbor, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother and an adored great grandmother. Grandmother CLARK has served her day and generation on this earth and gone home to dwell forever with her husband and children gone before. She leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild to mourn her departure. It can be truly said of Grandmother CLARK. She lived a long and useful life, died the death of the righteous and has gone home to glory.[2]
