Frances Ann Thompson was born on 18 Oct 1810[1] in Kennington Cross, London, England as the second child of Matthew Pearson Thompson and Ann Earl. When her mother set sail with her brother William to join her father, Matthew in Australia, she, for some reason, was left behind in England. She had six siblings, namely: William Pearson, Elizabeth, Ann Isabella, Matthew George, Jane Sophia, and Thomas John. She died on 26 Apr 1896[2] in Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia. When she was 24, she married Pearce William Maund on 24 May 1835[3] in Kennington Cross, London, England. When she was 39, she married Robert Macleowen on 9 Mar 1850[4] in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia.
