Dixie Lee (Thomas) Spiker May 7, 1940 - January 24, 2016
Dixie Lee (Thomas) Spiker, 75, of Somerset, PA, died Sunday, January 24, 2016, at The Patriot, Somerset. Born May 7, 1940, at Ogletown, PA, she was the daughter of the late William & Pansy (Werner) Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Theodore Spiker; Aunt Lucille & Uncle Carl Werner, who raised her; one sister, Shirley, two brothers, Paul & Bill. Mrs. Spiker was a cook for The Georgian Inn. She managed several restaurants & businesses in Somerset and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset. Surviving are four sons, Douglas A. (Brenda) Spiker, Michael R. (Teresa) Spiker, Daniel L. Spiker, Mark E. (Katie) Spiker, all of Somerset; two daughters, Carolyn C. (Donald) Romesberg, Rockwood, PA, Teresa L. (William) Sheehan, Hooversville, PA; three brothers, Robert (Pauline) Thomas, OH, John (Diane) Thomas, GA, Keith (Juana) Thomas, NY; three sisters, Bonnie (Robert) Bruner & Beverly (Ralph) Farbota, all of OH, Maryjane (David) Allemange, FL; one sister-in-law, Shirley Liptak, OH; eleven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, MD, on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 11:00 am with Deacon William Underhill officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
