Louise Theriot was born on 17 Aug 1843 in Lafourche Parish, according to her tombstone. Her christening recorded at the Thibodaux Church has the birth date as 19 Aug 1843 which could be the christening date.^[1]

Louise Theriot was born on Bayou du Large, Terrebonne, Louisiana. She was living in Terrebonne Parish during the census of 1850 with her father Michel Theriot, Sr., a farmer with real property worth $17,500. He was able to read and write; his spouse Seraphine (Louise's mother) was not. They had seven sons and one daughter, Louisa, all born in Louisiana. Louisa died in 1906 and was buried at the St. Eloi Cemetery in Theriot.^[2][3][4]

Louisa married Amand St. Martin on 10 Nov 1864 at Houma, LA. He was the son of Jean Baptiste St. Martin & Gabriel [sic] Durand.^[5]
