Biography

Birth

John Edson Terrill was born on the 30th of June 1878 in Dixville, Coaticook, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Orrin Porter Terrill (1841-1919) and Florence P (Baldwin) Terrill (1846-1933).^[1][2]

Marriage

He married Etta May (Gill) Terrill (1876-1967) on the 10th of May 1900. They raised three children, all born in Quebec.

1. Edna Gertrude Terrill (1900-1974)
2. Maurice Gill Terrill (1905-1971)
3. Ruth (Terrill) Vik (1918-1991)

John was a known musician often playing community and family events.^{[3] [4]} He brought his family to the United States on the 24th of October 1920. The immigration paperwork lists his occupation as machinists.^[5]

Death

John passed away the 8th of November 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts after being struck by a street car.^[6] He was laid to rest in Hope Cemetery in Worcester, Massachusetts. His stone contains the logo for the International Order of Odd Fellows and the text "We will meet again" at the bottom.^[7]
