Dorcas was born about 1798.

Research Notes

Dorcas married John Palmer on June 14, 1817. John Palmer later changed his name to Henry McFarland so that his family couldn't find him. A great-granddaughter of theirs (Freeda McKinney) wrote the story down as it was told to her and it has been passed down through the family. There are instances where the family used the last name of McFarland and of Palmer. Keep this in mind when doing any research on this family. [Rauch-1159]
