Biography

Vernon Terrill was born on August 19, 1928, in Carlisle, Oklahoma, his father, Edmond, was 29 and his mother, Lillian, was 27.

He married Alda Fay Phillips on March 31, 1950, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He then married Wynona K. Bryant-Terrill and they had two children together.

He passed away on November 7, 2011, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age of 83, and was buried in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

Vernon Kent "Red" Terrill, age 83, passed away Monday November 7, 2011, in Muskogee, OK. He was born August 19, 1928, in Carlile, OK, a community in Sequoyah County, OK, to Edmond James and Lillian (Brown) Terrill. Red was raised in Vian and moved to Muskogee as a teenager. He graduated from Muskogee Central High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Red returned to Muskogee and was Manager of Auto Parts of Muskogee for over 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was a longtime member of Evening Lions and served as President. He was also involved in Meals on Wheels for over 20 years and was a member of The Christian Church since 1959, serving as Deacon for several years. Red was preceded in death by his son, Bryce Kevin Terrill; his parents; and brother, John Edward Terrill. There will be a private family inurnment at National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
