Biography
James was born in Kentucky in 1791[1][2], a son of Edmond Terrill, Jr., 1770-1807[3] and Mary Jane (Maxwell) Terrill[4].
He married Ann Smith and had issue[5][6][2].
"James Terrill was County and Circuit Court Clerk from 1830 to 1850 – the writer of this wrote in the office of James Terrill in 1849-50. Terrill died in May 1851. I was living with him at the time of his death. His widow, whose maiden name of Annie Smith, daughter of Gen. William Smith, died two years after the death of her husband. Two good people were they." - Mt. Vernon and the Early Settlers of Rockcastle as Given By One of Our Oldest Citizens Written by James Maret, grandson of James Terrill, Mt. Vernon Signal, 20 December 1901.[7].
James passed away in 1851 and was buried in his home state[1].
