Biography

Native Virginian (Born in Virginia, Now West Virginia as of June 20, 1863)

Permelia was born in 1851. ^[1] Note: Her gravestone states she was born in 1867. This is incorrect.

Hiram C King married Permelia Ann Francis Tenney on April 8, 1873 in Braxton County, WV ^[2]

Warrick C Anderson married Permelia A.F. Tenney-King in Braxton County, WV ^[3]

Permelia Tenney ... She passed away in 1949. She is buried in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Caress, WV. ^[4]

(As Originally shared by Ancestry Member: PatakandCraig.) This story was told by Hiram's wife, Permelia King and documented by George Washington King's (Hiram's son) Grandson, Drexell.

Hiram was declared dead twice. He was declared dead around 1908 after he disappear for 7 years but returned. His official death date is June 27, 1917 when he truly died and was buried. 

Hiram C. King went to the creek for water one day in 1901 and disappeared. After waiting 7 years, his "widow" had him declared dead in 1908. Permelia King "remarried" on August 3, 1908 to Warrick C. Anderson. Hiram C. King returned from the dead a few months after his wife's new marriage.

According to the family, he returned missing/or blinded in one eye and never gave an accounting for where he had been during the missing years. Warrick and Pernelia invited Hiram to dinner upon his return, and Hiram thanked Warrick for taking care of Pernelia and wished them well.
