"David came from Northern Ireland to America in 1772 following his parents' deaths. He married his wife Ann Hunter in Ireland. He and his wife settled in what was then Northumberland County, PA.[1]
Ann's brother Col. Samuel Hunter is a well known historical figure in central PA.
"Recent YDNA test results documented that their (James & David) respective descendants constitute two separate Templeton genetic lineages; Jame's defined by YDNA haplogroup R-L21->DF49->M222 and David's by I-2a1a-> M223." There are 7 M223s. Subject to Ron's review (My geriatric memory "ain't" that good ), David's descendant is David Edgar Templeton, ftdna kit 157099, 67 markers. Jack Templeton

Given the Father of this child was born in abt. 1680, this would make the birth of the child somewhere around 1700. Would you please post an estimated birth for this profile please? Thanks Mags
The dates are slightly off, but the sources here are Ancestry.

I am working through all the Templeton profiles. I am working to merge duplicates into single profiles in accordance with the WikiTree goal of Having one person/1profile. this is the lowest numbered profile for this David so other profiles will be merged down into it. Mags
You might want to review my profile on David Senior at Templeton-1603, which includes some profiles on his children.

I noticed that L. B. Templeton's book was used as a source for David Templeton but no page is given. I have a copy of the recent reprint which has an appendix written by me. The David Templeton of NC was not associated with the Laurens County, SC, Templetons. DNA from the line of the David of NC is in the "I" Haplogroup whereas the line for the David Templeton of Laurens County is in the "R" Haplogroup. They are not genetically connected. You might want to review my bio on wikitree for the David Templeton Senior of NC and his children. We need to keep the genealogy adage in mind in all of our work: "The name is the same is not proof of identity or relationship."

Ron
