Biography

Andrew Teller born abt 1675 NY [1]

Andries was born about 1682. He was the son of Andries Teller and Sophia Van Cortlandt. He passed away in 1702. He left a will dated September 3, 1702. It was proved November 9, 1702. He named his only son Andrew, brother Oliver and sister Margaret and the children of Oliver Stevens and William Teller Sr., deceased. He appointed his mother, Sofia Teller, widow, Brandt Schuyler and Jacobus Van Cortlandt, executors.[2]

Research Notes

His son wrote a will on February 15, 1730, naming wife, Mary, Catherine, daughter of his first wife, and the children of his Uncle Oliver, deceased. He also named "my Negro Man called Dego and my Negro Woman called Hannah" and "my Negro boy Boy called Will and my Negro Girl called Su". He named his wife Mary, "Brother in Law David Provoost of the City of New York Merchant the son of William Provoost my friends Stephen Bayard Jacob Goelet Jun'r and Abraham Van Wyck of the City aforesaid Merchants" his executors.[4] From his grandfather's profile: Children of his son Andries and wife Catharine Vandewaater were: Andries baptised 1726 Nov 25; Andries Teller, Catharina Van de Water; Olevier Teller, Anneke Van de Water; Catharina baptised 1728 Dec 04; Andries Teller, Catharina van der Water; Oliver Teller, Anneke van der Water jd.

Teller-389 and Teller-34 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, same wife per son's baptism. Birthdate on Teller-389 is a guess. I didn't find the earlier profile.
