Welcome to the LeMar family. You now have trusted list access to your mother's ancestors that I have entered. We are Huguenots who have been in this country since the 1600's.

If anyone is interested, this book might be of use in researching the Teagues of 17th-century Pembroke:

Hi Dave!

Happy New Year! I've moved the discussion of the John Teage who died in Stackpole Elidor, Pembrokeshire in 1607 to his own page. The transcript of his will can be found there now too.

Best, Drew

Drew, I did discern the name Margaret near the bottom of the first page, which (when taken with the other names you mentioned, and the names in the successive wills in Pembrokeshire down into the 18th century) suggests that this Welsh family had a habit of bestowing "royal" names upon their children.

Crossing to America, this is exactly the naming pattern used by Edward the immigrant and his wife Susannah: William, Catherine, and Ann/Anne. (I am suspicious of other children attributed to Edward, especially ones who supposedly survived to adulthood, because they aren't mentioned in any of the documentation from Susannah's 2nd marriage.)

Taken altogether, the Welsh wills make a good case that Edward told us exactly where he came from, whether his DNA was originally Irish or not.

Lynette, you can try

Otherwise, try following the steps I outlined in my comment earlier.

I can tell you that it begins: "In the name of God Amen the 5th day of December in the year of our Lord 1607(?) I John Teage of [ ? ] of Stackpooll Ellider in the countie of Pembrook husbandman sicke in bodie but whole in mynde...."

In a short time as part of the WikiTree community, Dave has contributed greatly to the genealogy of our shared Teague family tree. Indeed, he has located previously unknown records that may prove to solve some long frustrating mysteries. By generously sharing his work, he helps make this community stronger.

Thank you for all your efforts. I look forward to collaborating more in the future, and assisting you how ever I can. Welcome to WikiTree!
