Hi Sharon, what’s the Skeels connection? This is my 10th cousin once removed, so I don’t think we have a blood relationship.

Also, my husband Kris is 7th cousin direct with Andrea on the Hyde line.
Hi Andrea, I've noticed you've added the project box to several profiles not managed by US Black Heritage Project recently. Just a reminder that the code for the African-American sticker is the phrase African-American Sticker inside double squiggly brackets. Thanks! Emma
Thank you for your improvements to so many US Black Heritage profiles! Emma~~USBH
Do you have time to help review these recent additions and edits. Many seem connected to Rackensperger-2 https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&who=Hefke-21&l=500 The editor recently deleted their profile so there are many orphaned pages you might consider adopting.

Hi Andrea,

Changes to Profile of Frances Dana (Barker) Gage [Barker-9518] states that you edited the background image (of her portrait, I presume.) I'm the PM. I'm unable to find your edit. Can you describe how I might find it? Thanks so much.

I added a background image to her profile, not her portrait. It looks like this Family_photos-1-4.gif

Thanks Andrea,

So how do I find it from her profile page?.

Hi, Andrea, thank you for the research you've contributed for the Rameys of Wise, Scott, and Russell County, VA. I have been researching my maternal grandmother Leveny Ramey (1894-1937). Her story has been a fascinating distraction from Covid. A mystery: my mother said that her older sister Cecil (Cecile Betty?) had a diff father than that of my mother and her two brothers Charles and Harry. Leveny married Charley Ramey in 1912; Cecil was born in 1912 (MyHeritage.com). I think Cecil was a Davis and that her father may have been Andrew Davis, shown on the 1910 Census as a nephew in the home of George McKinney Ramey, brother of Leveny's father William Ramey. The Rameys were living at 788 Bear Wallow Rd, Dante, Russell Co, VA; Leveny is shown as Louannie Ramey, 17, living as a cook in the boardinghouse of Lizzie Buress at 674 Bear Wallow Rd, Andrew was 22. Questions: were they lovers, was Cecil conceived in a rape, did Andrew Davis die? Cecil was known to be "slightly retarded," behavior somewhat like a 12 or 13-yr-old. She married twice, last to Marcus Carson Mullins. Her maiden name on the marr. cert. is Cecil B. Davis. Marcus died in 1965 in Putnam, FL. Cecil was murdered in 1968 (Putnam Co Cold Case Homicides). I only rem. seeing Cecil twice when I was a child. My mother was closed to her bro Harry during his lifetime. Do you have any knowledge of Andrew Davis? Thank you again. Judy

Hi Judy,

Thanks for this email. It was quite the intriguing story which unfortunately, I know little about. Thank you for sharing what you do know about Cecil. It does appear from her two marriage records that her father was indeed Andrew Davis. Do you have her birth record by any chance?

The Andrew Davis you are speculating about it:

Andrew Jackson Davis BIRTH 28 FEB 1883 • Coburn, Wise, Virginia DEATH 16 AUG 1965 • McDermott, Scioto, Ohio, USA

His parents were Mary Emily Ramey and John Henderson Davis

He first marrried when he was 32 to Nannie Blevins about 1915. They had six children together. I don't know much about this family.

He appears to be a Machinist, a coal miner and then a sawyer. He moved to Ohio about 1927.

I will keep digging around and see if I can find out more information.

Take Care, Andrea

Hi Andrea,

We're sad to inform you that the Black Sheep Project is being dissolved. All BSP's subprojects will be moved in pieces under the Notables Project as categories and perhaps as Teams, depending on interest. Witch Trials will become a subproject of Notables.

Your BSP project member badge will soon be removed. If you'd like to join the Notables project, please let one of us know and we'll get you a Notables badge.

Please email either of us if you have any questions and if you'd like to join the Notables project.

Thanks, Susan McNamee & Traci Thiessen ~co-leaders, Black Sheep Project

Hello, Andrea,

It has been a few weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Black Sheep Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.
