Lydia Mary Talbot (married name Campbell) was born on 8 December 1895, the third child of George Talbot and Elizabeth Talbot.[1][2][3][4] Her birth was registered in the first quarter of 1896 in the England & Wales Civil Registration Birth Index.[5]

She was christened on 30 December 1895 at Howdon Pans, Northumberland.[1]

Lydia married Norman Michael Campbell at Howdon-on-Tyne, Northumberland, England, on 2 April 1918.[7][8] Their children were:[9]

Lydia died in 1988 in New Zealand.[10]

Biography by Lydia's granddaughter, Janine, written May 2018

Lydia was in service from an early age. She was blacking the stove at her employer’s house when Norman came to ask for her hand in marriage.

She was an excellent knitter and kept her grandchildren in beautifully knitted jumpers. Janine remembers a knitted pleated skirt and a jumper made from the same wool as her blue knitted dressing gown. As Janine grew out of the skirt and jumper it was unraveled and the wool was used to make a larger dressing gown.
