Biography

The son of Gustav Megures Magnesson Swanson and Eling Carson, Frank Swanson was born in Sweden in 1863.^{[citation needed]} He emigrated to the United States, settling in Michigan. He married Anna Belle Phelps (1865-1903), the daughter of William W. Phelps and Anna Mitchell, marrying in Romeo Township, Michigan on July 28, 1891.^[1] Their children included:

1. Roy Phelps Swanson (1892-1961)
2. Isabelle Swanson (1901-1969)

They made their home in the village of Luther, Michigan, in Newkirk Township, where Frank worked as a retail merchant.^[2] His wife died from meningitis in 1903 and Frank remarried, marrying widow Clara (Temple) McCrimmon, marrying in her hometown, Ridgeway Township, on August 28, 1906.^[3] They made their home in Newkirk Township, where his retail store was located.^[4][5][6]

Frank Swanson passed away there at the age of 75.^[7] He is buried at Romeo Cemetery in Romeo, Michigan.^[8]
