DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Janice:
Marie Svedahl Doughty via Janice Trenouth once contacted me in response to my questions on ancestors. I am (?)Marie’s 4th cousin once removed, it said in my letter. I lost touch after that, due to family illnesses. I would love to get in touch again. I just did an Ancestry DNA test and made a page. My paternal Grandmother is Dora Belle /(Bell)Tallman Stone, daughter of Mathew Tallman and Lillian Huffman (she later married Arthur Hammond). My father is Arthur Robert Stone. I have since moved from the Lapeer, Michigan address. Thank you for any help. Bonnie Lee Stone Boyd (born 04/29/1956, Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan).

Basically choose the year and search it. Spelling is important - I usually find the person I'm looking for in Family Search.org and then use that spelling here.

Upper Canada Land Petitions
The Library and Archives Canada have a lot of great records but are VERY hard to figure out. Below are the two links you need. The first one is the search engine.
Example:
Surname: DOUGHTY Given Name(s): Isaac Place: Louth Year: 1836 Volume: 163 Bundle: D 20 Petition: 57 Page(s) Reference: RG 1 L3 Microfilm: C-1878
The Microfilm number - in this example - is C-1878. Once you have found the film number you want, you use the second link to find the film. When you get into the correct film you need to first find the Volume Number, then the Bundle, then the petition number.
When I first get to a film, I jump to page 100, then scroll to the bottom of the screen, in this example page 100 says it is Vol 161, Bundle D19. So I jumped ahead to page 800 and found Vol 163, Bundle D20 - which is what I was looking for. So I then went to the top of the page and found I was in Petition 87 - and I need petition 57. So tried page 700 - which is petition 63. Eventually I hit page 652, which is the beginning of petition 57. There might be an easier way to find the correct petition but this is how I do it. Note that each petition is usually at least two pages long and can be many more. I like putting the link and a transcription of what I find in the proper profile page - you never know when links go away.

Thank You So Much for your response. Ebenezer Couch did have a Son Named Ebenezer, One is a Great ( whatever # ) Grandfather and the other is an Uncle. I have an Extensive Family Tree on Ancestry that has both the Lambertson-Couch side which is my Mom's Family and the Prince side which I have traced back to Jacques Nicolas LePrince, born in 1646 in Normandy, France. He Immigrated to Canada in 1666.
The Relationship Finder indicated that we have 11 Common Ancestors from the Prince side of my Family.
Tyrrell is my first Husband's Last Name. I kept it after my Divorce because of my Children. It would be Wonderful to find a connection there as I have had Difficulty in getting past his parents. There is little information available on that line of Tyrrells'.
Hello Janice, According to the Relationship Finder we are 9th Cousins once removed. We are both Descended from Nicolas Paternose III. ( I hope I have the correct spelling.
What I find interesting is I found you through the edit you did on Ebenezer Couch and Ann Crane. They are my Great-Great-Great Parents , I believe. I was looking for a Connection through the Couch Family. However, we are actually related through my Prince Family Line. In any event , it is always nice to "meet : new Cousins, no matter how distant.
