Margaret (Sutton) Carpenter immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Margaret Sutton was baptized in Attleborough 30 November 1637. She was the only other Sutton child for whom an English record has been found -- it identifies her as the daughter of (blank) Sutton and (blank) [1]

Margaret was born in 1635. [2].

Parentage

She was a known child of John Sutton, Sr. [3]

1655 Marriage to Joseph Carpenter

She married Joseph Carpenter 25 Nov 1655 in Rehoboth, Plymouth Colony.

In 1655 Joseph Carpenter married Margaret Sutton (1635-1700) [2]

Her husband was buried 16 May 1675 at Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts. The burial place of Joseph is now Barrington, Rhode Island.

1677 Death

She died before 4 Oct 1676 Swansea, Mass and was buried in 100 Acre Cove, Barrington, Mass.

Her inventory was taken on 4 October 1676 and exhibited to the court at Plymouth on 2 November 1676.[4]

Her husband, Joseph Carpenter died 1675 in Swansea, Massachusetts. She died in 1700. [2]

Based on the research in an article by Gene Zubrinsky in NEGHS, 2013, John Sutton's wife and Margaret's mother was Julian Adcocke, not Julian Little.
