Biography

Hazel Joy Sund was born on 24 December 1923, in San Diego, California, United States. She was the daughter of Alfred Sund and Bertha Sell. ^[1][2]

She married William Yoggerist in the late 1940's. ^[3] William died in 1969.

She married James Richard Kjellman in 1970, in San Diego, San Diego, California, United States. ^[4] She died on 9 February 2016, in San Diego, California, United States, at the age of 92.^[5]

H. Joy Kjellman December 24, 1923 - February 9, 2016 San Diego Joy passed away on February 9, 2016 at 5:03 pm surrounded by loved ones. Joy was born on Christmas Eve, 1923, to Alfred and Bertha Sund, in San Diego, CA. Young Joy was an accomplished figure skater and played ice hockey. She graduated from Hoover High School and was a Chi Theta at SDSU. During WWII, Joy helped build PBY Catalina warplanes at Consolidated Aircraft. Joy loved the beach and travel. She also enjoyed tennis, golf, and entertaining with her many friends in Del Cerro. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Robert Yoggerst, her second husband, James Richard Kjellman, and her brother, Vincent Sund. A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends, Saturday, June 18, 1-3 pm at the home of her daughter, Jill.^[6]
