Biography

Jane Stubbs (married names Bolton, then Johnson) was born on 20 October 1843 in Pitt Town, New South Wales, Australia, the first child to Hannah Stubbs and James Stubbs.^[1]

On 2 May 1875, she married her cousin, Henry Bolton.^[1] Their children were:^[1]

• Amber May Bolton (1875–1938)
• George Arthur Bolton (1877–?)
• James Walter Bolton (1879–?)
• Hannah Amy Bolton (1881–1885)
• Mary Maude Bolton (1881–1881)

Henry died in August 1881.^[1]

Jane remarried on 2 February 1887, to William Johnson.^[1]

Jane migrated to New Zealand in 1893.^[1]

She died on 21 January 1898 in Wellington.^[1] Her remains were interred at Karori Cemetery.^[1]
