Obituary

Paul Chelcie Striker passed away December 1st, 2020. Paul is predeceased by his wife, Helen Logan Striker, his father William Striker, his mother Hazel Brooks Striker, and his two sisters, Margaret Sparrow, Janet Urig, and his brother William Striker.

He is survived by his seven children, seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Paul was born on April 11th, 1929 in Missoula Montana, and later moved to Seattle, Wa, where he graduated from Ballard High School in 1947. Out of high school Paul traveled to Alaska with his brother Bill, to work in Suntrana, Ak as a miner. On his return from Alaska, Paul enrolled in the University of Washington to begin his studies in pre-med. In 1951 Paul joined the Coast Guard and was honorably discharged six months later, due to pneumonia. He married Helen Logan Striker in 1951, and together they returned to the University of Washington to pursue their respective studies.

Paul was a real-estate broker for most of his life. He, and his wife, Helen, loved music, and performed at many events over the years. Paul had such an incredible voice he was offered a scholarship in music, but turned it down to study math and chemistry.

Paul owned and operated Paul Striker Realty for many years, and took his large family on trips to National Parks, Europe, and Hawaii. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed skiing, boating, and water skiing, with his family. Paul also enjoyed the sport of horse racing and loved to go to Longacres to watch the ponies run.

Paul moved his family several times, but each place had its own unique charm. Several of his children enjoyed riding horses, so when it was feasible, Paul purchased homes that had ample property, and lots of room to roam. His wife, Helen, loved dogs, and would often bring home a stray dog or two. In his forties, Paul moved his wife, two daughters and his youngest son, Robert, to a ranch he had purchased in the 70’s. This farm was something Paul spoke of often, and was one of his favorite homes. He loved the valley, ranching, the serenity and the way of life. His wife loved the opportunity to raise her youngest daughter, Rene, on a farm, where she could spend time baking, playing the piano, and gardening.

Burial likely with wife Helen at Maple View Hobart Cemetery.[1]
