Biography
Sarah Elizabeth Strickland was born April 16, 1828[1] in Tattnall County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Henry Strickland and Miriam Copeland.
At age 16, She married William Wycliffe Rogers (1822-1889) November 7, 1844 in Tattnall County, Georgia.[2] Children:
- Sarah 'Elizabeth' Rogers (1847-1920)[3]
- William Henry T Rogers (1848-1866)[3]
- Joseph Allen Rogers (1850-1890)
- Anne Jane Rogers (1852-1885)
- Charlton Pleasant Rogers (1854-1928)
- Clementine 'Samantha' Rogers (1856-1923)
They lived in on their farm in Tattnall County, Georgia in 1850, with their first 2 children, Elisabeth-4 and William-1.[3]
Sarah passed away just 8 days after the birth of her daughter Clementine, at the age of 29, on July 12, 1856 and was buried in the Strickland Cemetery in Reidsville, Tattnall County, Georgia.[1]
