• Without evidence, Torrey suggested that John Frye may have married Ann Stratton. The circumstantial evedince being that Anne was the correct age and her mother also went to Massachusetts about the same time as John Frye. Anne, the mother, to Salem, and Ann, the daughter (if m. John Frye) to Andover, two locations not far apart. Also, Ann, wife of John Frye, has no records prior to her marriage, and Anne, dau. of Anne (Derehaugh) Stratton, has no records after her baptism. None of this proves anything, hence Torrey marked her name with a question mark.
