Biography

Lucy was born in August 1856 in Miller County, Missouri. She is the daughter of James Stone and Priscilla West. She passed away in March 1934 in Marion County, Missouri and is buried in Hope Cemetery, Ralls County, Missouri.

Lucy married William E Williams 9 January 1876 in Moniteau County, Missouri.^[1] The marriage was performed by Lucy's grandfather John Warren West and he filed the marriage record in Moniteau County using the name "Mary Ellen Stone."

In 1900 Lucy is living in Jefferson Township, Cole County, Missouri. She is listed as married, however her husband William is not in the home. The census was taken effective 1 June 1900 and William died on 14 April 1900 in Cole County, Missouri. Four of Lucy's children are living with her: Lafayette, Thomas, George and Olivia Williams. The census states she had borne five children and four were living.^[2]
