Biography

Exelia was born in East Canada (currently Quebec) about 1854. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

She immigrated to the USA about 1865. ^{[2] [3]}

She married Dennis Cady around 1868. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

By 1900 she had given birth to 17 chidren, 11 of whom were still living. She spoke English but could neither read nor write. ^[2]

Research Notes

• A matrilineal 3rd great granddaughter of Exelia has an exact full sequence mtDNA match (Genetic Distance = 0) with a matrilineal descendant of Marie (Fant) Tan (abt.1605-) and a triangulated auDNA match with two people whose common ancestor is Ida Cora (Lacomb) Moussaw (1863-1961) who is the matrilineal 5th great granddaughter of Marie (Fant) Tan (abt.1605-).
