George was born in 1853. He passed away about 1931. [1]

George Edward Stokes was born about 1853 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.[2]

George married Betsey Ann Browning (born on 16 Dec 1855 in Wolverhampton, Staffs., England; daughter of John Browning and Betsy Dorothy (Cotton) Browning). [3] [4] Their known daughter was Dorothy Mary Stokes (1886–1961).

George died in 1931 in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia, aged 86. His death record names his parents as Samuel and Ann. [5]
